Abstract: | In the previous report, high rate composting of cattle excrements has been analyzed stoichiometrically, and now that of activated sludge from a municipal sewage similarly so that the biochemical process is expressed again physicochemically and chemical engineering, As reported, composting defined to be a process of transformation of an unstable organic system to a stable one by biochemical oxidation catalyzed by enzyme of a microorganism, and the enthalpy change, the redox reaction rate, and amount of the necessary oxygen are calculated to express both the complex reaction stoichiometrically and the activity of the microorganism numerically, so that it is now possible to select the most active one. |
