東海地方における近世曹洞宗本堂の研究(その 1) : 龍溪院本堂

Abstract

This paper is the first of a series of studies on the main halls of Sodo Zen sect temples in Edo period, which subsist io Tokai district. First, in this thesis I took up Ryukeiin Temple in Okazaki City. This temple not only has a historic background, but also hold a high rank among temples of Sodo Zen sect in this district, and moreover it's main hall is the oldest one among Zen sect main hall in this district. Therefore it is necessary to restore to it's original state so as to understand it's characteristic of the main hall of Sodo Zen sect in early Edo period. So I have studied to restore it to it's original state by finding traces of the repairing works done after it was first built. Standing on this original state, I discussed on significance in the main hall of Sodo Zen sect in early Edo period.
