質の保証と授業の活性化 : 本学総合教育科目における授業の在り方を模索する

Abstract

Many general education students either enter the program with an inadequate foundation of basic academic skills or， over the course of their studies，lose some of those basic fundamentals through lack of reinforcement. What is necessary ensure the success of these students? It is the author's belief that an effective curriculum must not only provide high-level technical instruction but must also adopt three additional elements with active student involvement. These three elements are as follows : (1) Learn how to clearly and concisely communicate to others. (2) Learn critical comprehension skills (e.g. the ability to dissect truth and meaning from mass marketed and potentially biased media outlets). (3) Reinforce fundamental academic skills (i.e. review of elementary and secondary education lessons).
