Abstract: Traditional food has formed the foundation of areal cultural life and it is passed as customs of folk life. However,the system of manufacture and selling for traditional food keeps changing, which is affected by the fluctuation of the economics easily. This paper presents a case study of Urban Area in Jiangnan, China. From the findings of the fieldwork conducted in this area, this paper aims to portray the diversification of glutinous rice food as cultural resources by focusing on how the producers make and sell glutinous rice food. It will also discuss how the glutinous rice culture being in the urban area in the future.
