| 抄録: | In this paper, the linguistic phenomena that why the Chinese directional complement “qi lai” tends to co-occur with positive adjectives,and “xia(lai/qu)” another directional complement tends to co-occur with negative adjectives were discussed from a cognitive linguistic perspective. Based on the research, We arrived at the conclusion that the co-occurrence of [positive adjective + “qi lai”] and [negative adjective + “xia（lai/qu）”] is not arbitrary, but motivated by human cognition and culture. |
