Abstract

This paper deals with Extension Center's contribution to the society. Extension lectures are the extension's main contribution to the society. Universities want to contribute to the society through extension lectures. But it is difficult for the lectures on mathematics and physics to attract audiences. What kinds of extension lectures are good for various audiences. Especially the lectures on science and technology? It is important for a planner of the lecture programs to research what kinds of lectures the audiences want to take. Even though the planner want to give the audiences lectures on mathematics and physics, the research on the audiences' needs will lead them to the ideas of the best lectures. Our extension program of Experience World and the Prize for Science and Technology give us the ideas about what kinds of lectures we can give the audiences. Experiences (such as experiments, exercises, and practices) and fundamental learning give the audiences the pleasure of achievement and the motivation to do more.
