| Abstract: | When a SCR is turned on by a gate trigger pulse current under applying forward voltage, the current through it is a typical space charge limited current. The quantities of space charge at middle junction of SCR under various biasing may be calculated by its capacitance between anode and cathode. Then the capacitance of a SCR can be used as the measure of its turn on characteristics. A SCR having exraordinary large value of junction capacitance compared to same rating one has poor turn on performance. |
