Abstract: We discuss the characteristic features of the magnetic interaction of a stationary electric current with the other elements, regarding it as an interaction-at-a-distance. Using Stokes' theorem, we derive formulas to represent forces and moments of force interacting between closed stationary currents by means of surface integrals. These formulas lead to the generalized law of action and reaction and the wellknown equivalence between a colsed stationary current and a system of infinitesimal magnetic dipoles. The effect of the self-action of a stationary current is also discussed.
