抄録: | Many corporations have done corporate education to develop their performance. However, there have been the pros and cons on it. Based on the status quo, we examine the ways and conditions to improve the effectiveness of corporate education. First, we make clear how corporate education is recognition understood today. Second, reviewing the history of it and we theoretically identify necessary conditions to improve it. Third, we use a case study to exemplify the theoretical consideration. We focus on the POSCO, a large steel manufacturing company in South Korea, which has introduced Toyota Production System as a way of corporate education to improve its efficiency. Then we identify three factors which led to higher productivity; formulation of a system as a whole organization, commitment of top managements, and penetration to the people at the actual work in the factory, Lastly, we show theoretical implication in terms of organizational learning research. |
