Abstract: Now, wood is used mainly as building materials for residences. For this reason, even if it studies the wood use expansion for residences, it is hard to become atrue use expansion. A wood structure must be expanded as an alternative structure of reinforced concrete structure and steel frame structure. The wood structure is suitable for the beam-column structure. Also historically, it has developed as a beam-column structure. Reinforced concrete structure is hard to be called true beam-column structure. For this reason, it is advantageous to use it as an alternative structure of the steel frame structure where it has developed as the same beam-column structure. Wood is inflammable material. So, as structure material of a high-rise building, various devices are needed. The steel frame structure of this point is also the same. A factory and a warehouse are raised as a steel frame structure without fire-resistant covering. Both structure has no frre-resistant covering in a low layer. This research sets it as the target to perform technical development of a possibility of using a wood structure as an alternative structure of steel frame structure.
