Abstract: The motion of a miniature robot is described in this paper. The principle of the robot is based on an inchworm.The small linear displacement of the miniature robot is measured by an optical displacement sensor. However the sensor is not suitable for a rotational displacement measurement. We proposed position and angle measurement by using position sensitive detector (PSDs). The rotational displacement of the robot is measured by the PSDs.
