Abstract: | Fingerprint authentication is very important for security purpose, however, a fingerprint is easily stolen. Forged fingerprints using fake fingers are increasing to deceive various security check systems based on fingerprint authentication, e.g. immigration check, identification check of ATM machine and so on. Entry and departure control at an international airport consists of immigration, quarantine and custom. Fingerprint authentication for immigration and thermo-graph equipments for quarantine to find passengers infected with high fever are used to support above control respectively. In this paper we propose to employ simultaneous measurement of fingerprint and percutaneous oxygen saturation to prevent illegal entry and to improve quarantine performance. 90% of counterfeit fingers can be detected by the proposed system. It also improves the possibility to find respiratory diseases not necessarily with high fever e.g. pneumonia or tuberculosis. |
