インターネット接続を考慮したモバイルアドホックネットワーク

Abstract

This paper discusses new protocols for mobile ad hoc networks to connect Bluetooth with wireless LAN in consideration of the Internet connectability. Bluetooth is built on a synchronous fasトfrequency-hopping paradigm operating in the 2.4 GHz unlicensed ISM band. This ISM band is generally utilized on IEEE 802.11g， which is a wireless LAN standard to enable transmission at symbol rates of 54 Mbps. If a Bluetooth node could communicate with another wireless LAN node on the same ISM band，then the Bluetooth node might be able to connect to the Internet. The objective of this aper is to expand both protocols regarding IEEE 802.11g and Blueooth so as to connect more number of nodes into the Internet through the given access points for wireless LAN. Hop-level and slave-number are embedded into the Bluetooth packet，while Bluetooth-address is intothe IEEE 802.11g packet. A sequence of links on the ad hoc network would be formed one by one by using the information on these packets. The simulation results show that the proposed protocols have appropriately worked in all procedures such as appending-node, deleting-node，and updating-node，respectively.
