Abstract: | Groundwater runoff is originated from the rain of the past. The influential period of rain on groundwater runoff is said to be from one month to one year. The authors carried out long term runoff estimation for Shonai River Basin, Chubu, Japan by means of artificial neural networks (ANN). The period of strong influence of rain on the runoff was sought by comparing the accuracy of estimations with various periods of rain used as inputs of ANN. One month was found probable as the influential period of rain on Shonai River long-term runoff in normal years. |
