Abstract

In this paper we show that the correlation between log on time and tracing test is not significant in the elementary education programming course, but the one between imagining test and tracing test is significant. It is already known that there is high correlation between the capacities of imagining and comprehension of control structures. Then we examined here two school years data in 1996 and 1997. And, because using the IBM 9121 system, we were able to use the records of student's connecting to the system at the end of each school years. At first we thought that the log on time may be good parameter of their studying attitude. Then we analyzed those 5 data, i.e. the log on time, the numbers of outputted papers, the student record, imagining test and tracing test. As the result, we got the low relation between the log on time and the tracing test, but the high one between the imaging and the tracing.
