著者: 藤井, 勝紀
抄録: Historical details regarding age at adolescent peak of height (age at MPV of height or peak height velocity) have not been verified. Accordingly, previous studies regarding age at MPV of height and PHV were confirmed. Especially, methods based on graphic and mathematical function are discussed, establishment based on mathematical function was needed. Therefore, significance of age at MPV of height (age at PHV) as biological parameter is tried to be discussed.

抄録: This paper deals with Extension Center's contribution to the society. Extension lectures are the extension's main contribution to the society. Universities want to contribute to the society through extension lectures. But it is difficult for the lectures on mathematics and physics to attract audiences. What kinds of extension lectures are good for various audiences. Especially the lectures on science and technology? It is important for a planner of the lecture programs to research what kinds of lectures the audiences want to take. Even though the planner want to give the audiences lectures on mathematics and physics, the research on the audiences' needs will lead them to the ideas of the best lectures. Our extension program of Experience World and the Prize for Science and Technology give us the ideas about what kinds of lectures we can give the audiences. Experiences (such as experiments, exercises, and practices) and fundamental learning give the audiences the pleasure of achievement and the motivation to do more.

Ever since that period, Japanese have treated the snake as a kind of god in their beliefs. The influences of snake on Japanese culture are discussed in this paper using a lot of examples grouped by four aspects: the myth, the thought, the daily life and the proverb.

ものづくり文化と倫理

タイトル: ものづくり文化と倫理
著者: 森, 豪
抄録: This paper deals with creating culture and ethics. Mr.Sadayoshi Terukawa, who has suffered from ALS, published a book about his life under medical treatment. His words of the book, "I have lived because I am a human being," attracted my attention. When the words caught my eyes, the World Expo has been prepared. The theme of the Expo is "Nature's Wisdom" which means we have to solve the environmental problems and protect the natural world. The environmental problems have bee caused by human beings. It is human beings that destroy the environment and are to be blamed. But Mr.Terukawa says it is human beings that protect him and give him a life. His life under medical treatment shows that human beings are fragile and cannot live without mutual cooperation and techniques for invention to make their livings. Westerners' way of thought is to divide nature and human beings or culture. But that way of thought which Japanese followed and resulted in the modern situation in which the natural world had been destroyed and environmental problems had been caused. Now is the time that we have to change the way of thought. We can find the true way in the world of interactive exchange between nature and human beings which is shown in the words of Mr.Terukawa's books.
