抄録: From this study we got the relationship between the visual field and the peripheral visual reaction time (RT) about the fixation target as follows. When we indicate the extensive of the visual field : V°, the stimulus loci : S° 1 In comparison with the same stimulus loci (visual angle) of the fixation target, the smaller the ratio of S°/V°is the faster the RT is. 2 In comparison with the different stimulus loci (visual angle) of the fixation target, where the ratio of S°/V°is same, the RT becomes same. 3 IT comes from the fact that the same brightness stimulus can be percepted as the different brightness according to the difference of the visual field of the fixation target.

タイトル: サーキット式トレーニングの検討 : Submaximalな強度での実施が身体に及ぼす影響について(1)
著者: 小原, 史朗
抄録: The purpose of this study is to investigate how the circuit-training method under submaximal exertion has an effect on the body. The circuit-training consists of 18 items and the time of the training was set up to be lengthend 1.5 fold times of the total-time required. Average values of training time (N=6) was 1647±36 seconds and average values of heart rate in training (N=4) was 148.4±15.3 beats per minute. Six male students aged 18-22 years were served as a training subjects and the other two male students aged 22 years were served as a control subjects. The training were had for 3 times per a week during 6 weeks. The results obtained were as follows. In measurements of the agility, stepping (R. and L.) and side steps improved significantly by 3.3%, 3.9% and 4.5% respectively, while the change in tapping (R. and L.) did not change significantly. As for measurements of muscle strength, back strength, grip strength (R. and L.), elbow flexsion strength (R. and L.) and pectoralis major strength (R. and L.) improved significantly by 3.7%, 4.6% 6.4% 4.2%, 3.4%, 11.8% and 13.0% respectively. In measurements of anaerobic power, maximum power staircase and maximum power stircase per weight improved significantly by 6.9% and 5.1% respectively. Average values of aerobic work capacity i.e. VO_2 max., VO_2 max./wt, VE max., O_2 pulse max. increased significantly by 5.3%, 3.8%, 5.1% and 5.6% respectively. H.R. max. and O_2 removal did not change significantly. Anthropometric measure showed significant increase in girth of upper arm on flexion (R), girth of fore arm (R. and L.) and girth of thigh (R).

Pitee Renneth Soone in Gentil Herte. : Chaucer作品における'Pity'と'Gentilesse'

タイトル: Pitee Renneth Soone in Gentil Herte. : Chaucer作品における'Pity'と'Gentilesse'
著者: 安藤, 光史
抄録: Pity' is one of the most important virtues that Geoffrey Chaucer in his works often refers to as a quality indispensable to a man, especially to a 'gentil man, ' a man of high rank and of ability. The Poet repeatedly uses this particular word, often in relation with the idea of 'gentilesse, ' which is the generic name of various virtues necessary to a man. His favorite phrase : "Pity renneth soone in gentil herte, " which appears four times in all his works, is a good example. He emphasizes a quality 'pity' as a component of 'gentilesse.' The Knight's Tale, The Merchant's Tale, The Franklin's Tale and others show good examples in which this quality plays the important part in order to develop their plots. Why does Chaucer often refer to 'pity' and insist on its necessity ardently? The Parson in The Canterbury Tales gives an answer to this question in his long and edifying preach. 'Pity' is the essence of Christ and His religion.
