抄録: What is "LL"? "LL" means "Language Laboratory." R. H. Walts used the word for the first time. But his system of LL could not be accepted and had been forgotten until World War II. The war attracted people's attention to foreign language education and brought about the success of ASTP. The enthusiasm for language education continued after the war. The development of mechanical devices, the new theory of language, and the government (NDEA) supported such a movement. LL spread rapidly throughout U. S. A. Japan was under the influence of such a development of LL. LL system changed according to the development of mechanical devices. At first an audio system played a very important role in LL. But recently a visual system attracts students' attention. Although formerly LL room was a room for hearing and conversation, it becomes a room for watching, reading, and writing as well as hearing and speaking now.

The aim of study is an attempt to make clear the development of the concept of "gentleman" in relation to its social structure in nineteenth century. It had been said that so called sportman-ship and fairplay in modern sport was influenced and was formed by the middle classes, and made the remarkable development. Namely, England was first country to industrialize and development of modern sport-formation be seemed to just a reflect of this economic change, however, this answer based on such rude economic determinism is unsatisfactory. And the important thing is change in the gentlemanly behaviour which ocured in that connection. From this point of view, the concept of "gentleman" in nineteenth century will be discussed in this paper, mainly concerning the concept of "gentleman" treated in the works of C. kingsley and T. Hughes.1990-03-30T15:00:00Z『武功夜話』の文芸的研究(2) : 製作の方法松浦, 武http://hdl.handle.net/11133/18792013-01-10T16:45:34Z1990-03-30T15:00:00Zタイトル: 『武功夜話』の文芸的研究(2) : 製作の方法

抄録: In Japan the first constitutional government modeled after that of China was established in the seventh century, and the writing system using Chinese characters was widespread among the court aristocrats. In this respect Japan was comparatively behind other nations in the history of the world. Once the Japanese had acquired the proper writing system, the creative writing of poetry with a marked individuality and other rich forms of self expression using prose such as stories, novels, diaries, essays, etc. flourished, which has continued through the twentieth century. In the history of world literature it is a distinctive phenomenon that a creative literature of expressing personal behavior and psychology flourished in the early stage of a nation's development. In the Japanese history of literature, this personalism seems to have temporarily disappeared during the turbulent period which lasted from the fifteenth to the sixteenth century. However, Buko-yawa (The Night Tales of Military Exploits) published recently proves that the existence of this personalism is such a deeply rooted, long-continuing tradition of Japanese literature.1990-03-30T15:00:00Z
